1 Rules - How to Solve ONE BOOK = ONE MYSTERY This book contains one complete icon elimination mystery. Exactly one person in the full register is the final answer. Each person has a name and 2 to 5 pictured symbols. Use the clues to rule out people until only one possible person remains. The clues may be solved in ANY ORDER. Cross out an entry only when that entry contradicts a clue. READING POSITIONAL CLUES A clue about the person directly above, below, left, or right refers only to the immediately neighboring entry on that same register page. A directional clue requires that neighboring entry to exist on the same register page. If it does not exist, eliminate the candidate. A clue about the same row, column, or page refers only to entries on that register page. READING ICON CLUES The icon or icons printed with a clue show which pictured symbol or symbols that clue is talking about. Some clues concern the person you are looking for. Other clues concern a neighboring person, another entry on the same page, or two pictured symbols appearing beside one another. Read the wording carefully before crossing anyone out. A pictured symbol in a clue does not automatically mean that every person carrying that symbol should be eliminated.
