Academic integrity during final examinations is increasingly challenged by students accessing
external assistance through mobile phones, particularly when they leave the hall for the
restroom, an area outside direct supervision. At Politeknik Balik Pulau, examination
monitoring currently relies mainly on manual observation, with no mechanism to alert
supervisors when a student's phone leaves the controlled network.
This study addresses that gap through the ExamGuard Smart Anti-Cheating Monitoring
System, developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. Before entering
the hall, each student scans a QR code, connects to a dedicated examination Wi-Fi access
point, and registers their name, matric number and class through a web form; the phone is
then placed in the storage box following existing Examination Unit procedure.
The system continuously monitors each registered phone's connection status, and if a phone
disconnects, for example by switching to cellular data or another network, a warning is raised
on a web-based dashboard while an ESP32-driven buzzer and LED alert supervisors. All login
and disconnection events are logged in a MySQL database for post-examination review. The
prototype is expected to give supervisors real-time visibility of student phone activity,
strengthening fairness and credibility of the examination process at Politeknik Balik Pulau.

This study examines the automated monitoring of restroom facilities, an emerging solution in
facility management utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The primary issue addressed
is the dependency on routine manual inspections, which are time-consuming and lack realtime status updates for waste bins and soap dispensers. This problem is critical because
delayed maintenance directly affects facility hygiene and user satisfaction. This study aims to
develop a smart restroom monitoring system to reduce maintenance time and cost while
delivering real-time alert notifications to supervisors. The development of this innovation
utilizes an Agile methodology approach to analyze operational efficiency. The innovation was
developed by integrating an ESP32 microcontroller with HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors and IR
sensors connected to a web dashboard. System performance was evaluated through field
testing to verify sensor detection accuracy. Results demonstrate that the system
successfully detects facility status accurately and delivers automated alerts. The
implications of this innovation are significant for cleaning staff and facility managers by
optimizing workforce deployment. Recommendations for future development include
expanding monitoring capabilities to cover water usage and tissue paper availability.

The SafeStride: Vision Assistance project introduces a smart walking stick designed to
improve the safety, mobility and independence of visually impaired individuals. This project
focuses on common difficulties faced by visually impaired users, such as detecting obstacles,
the risk of falling and delays in receiving emergency assistance. The project aims to develop
an affordable and practical assistive device that can provide obstacle detection, fall
detection, location monitoring and emergency alerts. The innovation is developed using an
ESP32 microcontroller integrated with an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, MPU6050 sensor, GPS
module, vibration motor, buzzer and SOS button. A mobile application is also developed to
support location monitoring and emergency communication with caregivers or family
members. The development process involves hardware integration, programming, sensor
testing and mobile application development. The results show that the system can detect
obstacles and provide immediate alerts through vibration and buzzer feedback. It also
supports fall detection and emergency communication. SafeStride can help improve walking
safety and provide greater confidence for visually impaired users while giving families better
awareness of their safety.

Student Teacher Alert Call (STAC) is an innovation developed to improve the teacher calling
process in schools, which has become an important communication issue in the education
environment. The main problem identified is the difficulty faced by students in contacting
teachers when teachers are not available near the staff room. This issue is important because
an efficient communication system can reduce delays and improve interaction between
students and teachers. This innovation was developed using a prototype development
approach by integrating an ESP32 microcontroller with a keypad, LCD display, buzzer and
Telegram notification system. The development process involved designing, assembling and
testing the system functionality to ensure that teacher identification input could be
processed and alerts could be delivered successfully. The prototype was analysed through
functional testing of the input, processing and notification processes. The results show that
STAC is able to provide simultaneous visual, audio and wireless notifications to the selected
teacher through the LCD, buzzer and Telegram message. The implication of this innovation is
beneficial to school management, teachers and students by providing a more systematic
teacher calling method. Future improvements may include additional features to enhance
system performance while maintaining its function as a calling and notification system.
