At the time, many were displaced and arrived with nothing, driven by a temporary mindset of wanting to "fight back to the mainland." Therefore, no one thought about building permanent homes. The document further elaborates that many soldiers who served in the air force had spent time in Chengdu, Sichuan, leading to a significant number marrying local women. This is why the Sichuan dialect became a common language in the villages. Guangda Erchun was where the first generation of grandfathers served in the air force's second command. In those days, the government actively encouraged childbirth, and within a few decades, it became a community filled with children. The mothers were busy raising many children, their efforts and the arduous task of providing meals were no less demanding than the fathers' work. The initial bond formed among the children was the most genuine, as they grew up together in Guangda Erchun like one big family, sharing hardships and deeply rooted camaraderie that is difficult to forget. Starting in the 1970s, as military dependents' villages across Taiwan were dismantled and rebuilt, residents were scattered, and the unique lifestyle of the community gradually disappeared. In this somewhat disconnected state, many people began to miss the scattered residents of Guangda Erchun, planting a seed in everyone's heart. Ten years ago, prompted by Zheng Hong, and after several years of preparation by the founding members, the "Guangda Erchun Liaison Association" was established. Its members included people like Ruiyun, Guoquan, Chunhua, Haiming, Hongbo, Dengqian, and Gongzheng. Ruiyun, who was deeply respected by everyone, was elected as the president of the association, with other members serving as directors and supervisors to provide services to their fellow villagers. Initially, members used a "needle in a haystack" approach to find contact information for former residents. With perseverance, they quickly built a network. After gathering a significant number of people, the Guangda Erchun Liaison Association officially came into being. The first gathering was a banquet held at the Beijing Restaurant, with over ten tables. Each participant shared stories of their old homes and experiences from the past decade or more. Later, through continuous efforts and financial support from caring individuals, and with the addition of new energetic members like Guoquan, Yongyu, Kunqi, Fengxun, and others, the organization became even stronger. Through annual gatherings, the association gained experience, and as more people joined, they wanted to continue writing the history of Guangda Erchun. This collective endeavor, aiming to capture the long history of the village, was truly a profound aspiration.
