Welcome to the Shri Manohar Keshav Randive Library, a vital Knowledge Resource Center at D.G. Tatkare Arts & Commerce College. Established in 2001, our college is affiliated with Mumbai University, and our library, named in 2009, is dedicated to serving the educational and research needs of our readers. We are proud to present our Library Orientation Programme for the academic year 2026-2027, designed to help you explore, engage, and excel in your academic journey. Our library aims to be a user-centric environment that fosters the acquisition and evaluation of scholarly information and knowledge. We believe that "A library is not just a place, It’s a way to learn, grow and succeed." Our services include quality books and reference materials, digital resources and e-resources, a dedicated reading room and study space, comprehensive information and research support, ICT facilities and internet access, and essential awareness and orientation programs. We offer a diverse collection of resources to support your studies. As of 2026-2027, our collection boasts over 12,093 textbooks, 2,853 reference books, and 1,106 donated books, totaling 9,943 physical books. In the digital realm, we provide access to between 2,300 and 2,700 e-journals and over 1.7 crore (17 million) e-books, ensuring that our users have a vast array of information at their fingertips. We also maintain a collection of 34 journals and magazines, 7 newspapers, and various multimedia resources like C.D./DVD/VCDs, maps, and encyclopedia volumes. For specialized needs, we have 65 Braille books and 226 specimen copies. Our library is committed to innovation, with a mission to provide AI-driven digital and physical library services. We aim to enhance user experience through personalized recommendations and to actively support education, research, and innovation. Our vision is to develop the library into an AI-powered intelligent knowledge hub that ensures seamless, personalized, and real-time access to information for all users. We leverage automation with systems like E-Granthalaya OPAC for online public access, DSpace for our institutional repository, and a Library User Tracking System to improve service efficiency. The library operates from Monday to Saturday, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with the same timings during examination periods to accommodate your study schedule. Our dedicated staff, including Librarian Mr. Manoj J. Wadhawal and Library Attendant Mr. Polekar M.G., are always ready to assist you. Additionally, our Library Advisory Committee, led by Principal Dr. Yadav N.S. and Librarian Prof. Wadhawal M.J. as Secretary, continually strives to enhance our services. Beyond our physical collection, we provide access to extensive electronic resources. This includes the DELNET database, offering 4.2 crore books for loan, 13,000 journals, 15,000 full-text e-journals, and 155,000 theses and dissertations. We also subscribe to E-resources such as N-List with 6,000 e-journals and 1,99,500 e-books, and the National Digital Library (NDL) which offers an astounding 90,724,802 e-books. Further resources like DOAJ, PDF DRIVE, e-PG Pathshala, and Gutenberg provide access to millions more e-books and open-access journals. Our magazine and journal collection includes 20 print magazines and 14 print journals, alongside 6,000 e-journals covering various subjects such as Economics, Geography, Marathi, Political Science, Commerce, and General Knowledge. We also provide a selection of daily newspapers like Times of India, Business Economics, and Maharashtra Times to keep you updated. We encourage all students and faculty to utilize these vast resources for their academic and research endeavors.
