Description:
Today, we're diving into the structural integrity of reservoir concrete structures using Non-Destructive Testing. Our research focuses on innovative methods for a comprehensive analysis. Our presentation covers five main chapters, from the introduction and problem to methodology, results, and a summary. We'll guide you through our comprehensive thesis. We're assessing a critical reinforced concrete water tower, standing at 38.6 meters with a 2,089.84 m³ capacity. It's exposed to significant cyclic and thermal stress.Concrete deterioration, like seepage and shrinkage cracking, demands our attention. We're looking beyond destructive testing to preserve structural integrity. We integrate modern non-destructive methods like Drone Mapping, Pulse Velocity Tests, and Rebound Hardness for advanced structural engineering monitoring. Our research addresses key gaps: the lack of direct correlation between crack geometry and acoustic data, and the need for clear repair guidelines. Our operational framework outlines a systematic 4-phase approach, from UAV and DIP audits to NDT campaigns, data correlation, and CWT & FEA frameworks. For our PPUM case study, we designed a 3,150 mm vertical grid across walls, dome, beams, and tower columns, identifying both affected and control zones. In Methodology Stage 1, we use a DJI Mavic Air 2 for 4K orthomosaic capture, followed by ImageJ software and skeletonization for precise crack quantification.Stage 2 of our methodology focuses on an NDT campaign using Rebound Hammer for compressive strength and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity to detect internal defects.
