Description:
We are excited to introduce the "Perkhemahan Lasak Anugerah Remaja Perdana Institut Kanak-Kanak JPKAS Peringkat Gangsa 2026," a premier youth resilience camp organized by the Welfare Services Department of Sabah, in collaboration with the Child and Community Services Division of JPKAS and the Psychology and Counseling Unit of Institut Kanak-Kanak JPKAS. This immersive program, scheduled for September 1st to 2nd, 2026, at the Blue Cabin Beachfront, is designed to instill essential life skills and foster personal growth among our young participants.
The camp's core objectives are multifaceted, focusing on developing well-rounded individuals. Firstly, we aim to cultivate excellent character through the application of discipline, integrity, and responsibility, all integral values reinforced during the camping activities. Secondly, we strive to enhance physical and mental resilience by engaging participants in challenging "lasak" or rigorous activities that push their boundaries and test their mettle. Thirdly, fostering teamwork and leadership is paramount; we promote communication, mutual assistance, and problem-solving within group settings to build strong collaborative spirits. Additionally, participants will master camping and survival skills, covering everything from proper camp management and safety to orientation and living harmoniously with nature. The program also seeks to build self-confidence and humanistic skills, enabling participants to confidently face life's challenges and interact positively within their communities. Finally, we envision this program as a platform to support the implementation of the Perdana Youth Award, a holistic youth development framework encompassing physical, emotional, social, and leadership aspects. This comprehensive approach ensures that every participant leaves the camp with enhanced capabilities and a stronger sense of self.
